NASA NOTIFICATION OF EXPLORATION MISSION DOCKING SYSTEMS FORUM
NASA’s Advanced Docking Berthing System (ADBS) Project within the Exploration Systems Research and Technology, Technology Maturation Program, in the Exploration Systems Mission Directorate is issuing a notice for a technical interchange meeting (TIM) to be held in the mid-April 2005 time frame. This Docking TIM will be held to provide information regarding the past, present, and planned efforts to mature the NASA Low Impact Docking System (LIDS) to support the advanced mating system and Autonomous Rendezvous and Docking needs for the Constellation and Crew Exploration Vehicle (CEV) Programs for the NASA Exploration Program.
This TIM is targeted to US contractors and other Government Agencies who are currently involved, pursuing involvement, or interested in docking and mating system technology development.
This TIM could be of interest to contractors already awarded work within the Concept Exploration and Refinement (CE&R) and Human and Robotic Technology (H&RT) Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) acquisitions and to contractors pursuing participation in the upcoming CEV RFP solicitation. Interested parties are encouraged to pre-register with James L. Lewis of the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston TX by COB Friday March 18, 2005 to facilitate planning and logistics of the TIM.
