Systems Affected: NOMAD Email Client, Outlook Web Access (OWA), BlackBerry, Treo and Windows Mobile Devices.

On Friday, February 27, your mailbox will be upgraded to Exchange 2007. It is extremely important that you DO NOT use your email between the times noted above. Any email messages sent during this activity window will be queued and delivered upon completion of the activity. Following this activity, the default mailbox size will be increased immediately from 200 MB to 400 MB. However, if you currently have a 500 MB mailbox, your mailbox size will be increased to 1 GB within 24 business hours.

FOR ENTOURAGE USERS – ONLY!

Entourage users will need to adjust their Exchange Server. This can be done by completing the following steps:

  1. Open Entourage
  2. Select Mail
  3. Click Tools
  4. Scroll to click Accounts
  5. Double click the name of your account to open the Edit Account window
  6. The server information will appear on the Account Settings tab
  7. Change the setting to mail01.ndc.nasa.gov

FOR INTERNET MESSAGE ACCESS PROTOCOL (IMAP) USERS – ONLY!

This section applies to customers using the following email clients:

  1. Thunderbird (LINUX / Macintosh / Windows)
  2. Apple Mail (Macintosh)

If you are an IMAP user, there are a few things you will need to do to configure your email for the NOMAD JSC Exchange 2007 servers. The following information is provided to assist you in making the changes.

  • Incoming server: imap01.nndc.nasa.gov
  • Incoming User Name format: domain\auid (required)
  • Incoming password: your password
  • Incoming port: 993
  • Incoming use SSL: checked (required)

  • Outgoing server: smtp01.ndc.nasa.gov
  • Outgoing User Name format: domain\auid (required)
  • Outgoing password: your password
  • Outgoing port: 587
  • Use TLS: checked (required)

NOTE: With Exchange 2007, shared resource mailboxes are not available for IMAP clients. You will be required to use Outlook Web Access (OWA) for shared resource mailboxes.
