NASA/MSFC has a requirement for a CubeSat Power System. SpaceFlight Industries, Inc., is the only vendor with a CubeSat form factor power system that meets the requirements of the system under development here at NASA/Marshall Space Flight Center. Only the Cortex 160 is rated for 15kRad total ionizing dose (TID) radiation and meets the interfaces of the iSat spacecraft. No other power system card has been found to be compatible with the system under development.
The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.
Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to Sonja D. White at sonja.d.white@nasa.gov, or fax at (256)961-9604 no later than 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2015. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
