NASA MODIS Image of the Day: November 3, 2007 - Tropical Cyclone 05A Approaching the Arabian Peninsu
An unnamed Tropical Cyclone, only designated 05A, was approaching the Arabian Peninsula when the MODIS on the Terra satellite captured this image on November 1, 2007.
On this date, AccuWeather says the storm had winds with a high of 55 knots.
As the storm movies westnorthwest, it is slowly weakening into a low pressure area. It is expected to make landfall in the border area between Yemen and Oman on November 3 and dissipate as it moves inland. By that time the storm will carry winds of not more than 20 to 25 knots, according to the Joint Typhoon Warning Center warnings.
