Snow is still on the ground in New England, after the March storm that hit the are several days prior. This image was captured on March 21, 2007, by the MODIS on the Terra satellite. The temperatures have been warming, so the snow is starting to melt.
The clear day gives us a good look at the region, which shows many states in the US north east. They are, from top to bottom: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York (with Lake Ontario visible to the west), Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Jersey (with Long Island stretching out to the east), and Pennsylvania.
