Description
This notice is issued by NASA/LaRC to notify interested parties that two Requests for Information (RFIs) have been issued via the internet to solicit responses from industry. The documents are for information and planning purposes, and to allow industry the opportunity to verify reasonableness and feasibility of the requirements; and to provide NASA with an understanding of the interest within industry, the technology, and resources available to support potential requirements for a mortared drogue parachute system and a recovery parachute system to support a flight test of an alternate launch abort system design for the Orion Crew Module (CM).
The RFIs for the mortared drogue parachute system and the recovery parachute system will each be issued via the NASA/LaRC Business Opportunities home page at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=D&pin=23 .
Interested parties are invited to submit a written response to the RFI, or to provide comments or questions. All communications should be forwarded by email to both Mr. Daniel E. Yuchnovicz at daniel.e.yuchnovicz@nasa.gov and Mr. Timothy P. Cannella at timothy.p.cannella@nasa.gov. Limit your responses to 15 pages or less not including diagrams, pictures, or figures. Existing documents that describe suitable existing products or proposed products are acceptable as attachments to your response; please limit the total attachment volume to less than 30 pages. Responses that can stand on their own without further explanation are expected. However, if NASA has specific questions, please provide your contact information so we can contact you.
Response requested by 4:30 p.m. EST November 27, 2007.
This sources sought synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information submitted in response. Respondents will not be notified of the results. An ombudsman has been appointed — See NASA Specific Note “B”.
