Description

NASA/KSC has a sole source requirement for Technology Infusion Development.

This requirement is a follow-on from a previous contract.

The requirement for a company to identify potential sources that are able to provide specific technical products that are needed for the Kennedy Space Center Crew Exploration Vehicle.

NASA/KSC intends to purchase this requirement from Research Triangle Institute (RTI) of Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. RTI conducted the pre-cursor technology infusion work.

Due to the fact that RTI held the previous contract for technology infusion, they are the only company that has the insight for this requirement. Use of another vendor would result in sever duplication of costs as all initial interviews would have to be conducted again.

The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to Jaime L. Dempsey, Mail Code: OP-MS ,Kennedy Space Center, FL 32899, Jaime.Dempsey@nasa.gov not later than 12:00 p.m. local time 8/12/2005. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis.

A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
