Description
NASA/ JSC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the manufacture of the NASA Standard Detonator (NSD). The manufacture of the NSD, Part Number SEB26100094-201 and/or -202, shall be in accordance with the Statement of Work (SOW) and the Design and Performance Specifications enclosed in the forthcoming RFP.
All details of the detonator shall provide for maximum reliability, safety of personnel, minimum weight and maximum operating utility.
A company must be currently certified by NASA to provide the NASA Standard Detonator in order to be considered a responsible party with respect to this action. All offers from responsible parties will be considered.
The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial device using FAR Part 12.
The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 325920 and 750 employees, respectively.
The DPAS rating for this action is DO-C9.
The anticipated release date of the RFP is on or about December 5, 2007. Offers shall be due by January 4, 2008.
