Description

NASA/JSC has a requirement for COMPREHENSIVE ANNUAL MAINTENANCE FOR VARIOUS STRATASYS 3D PRINTERS.

NASA/JSC intends to purchase these services from Stratasys.The Stratasys 3D printers covered by this service contract provide a 3-dimensional prototyping capability in support of in-office collaborative meetings and hardware design analysis for division, branch, and budget offices. Repair and service of this hardware requires specific knowledge and training, which is also only available from Stratasys. Stratasys is the sole source manufacturer for the parts and materials related to these machines. Therefore, only Stratasys is familiar with its unique operation and can provide the knowledge needed in order to operate the machinery.

The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to Dana Altmon-Cary via email at dana.altmon-cary-1@nasa.gov not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on January 31, 2013. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.

Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.

All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
