NASA JSC Emergency Managemet Update: on Harvey from the Spaceflight Meteorology Group
At 8:00 AM CDT, TS Harvey was located at 28.6 N 96.1 W or 80 miles SW of JSC moving SE at 3 MPH. Maximum sustained winds were 40 MPH.
Harvey will move offshore today and turn NNE tonight making a second landfall between Galveston and the TX/LA state line Wednesday morning. Winds with Harvey are forecast to strengthen only slightly to 45 mph. Additional heavy rainfall is possible at times. 6 to 10 inches of rain is possible today and 5 to 8 on Tuesday.
