Agencywide Re-launch of the NASA@Work Collaborative Program.
Based on the overwhelming success of and participation with the NASA@Work pilot program, NASA is pleased to announce the official agencywide re-launch of the NASA@Work collaborative program. NASA@Work is an internal collaboration platform that connects the collective knowledge of individual experts from all areas within the NASA organization via a private web-based environment supported by InnoCentive. The platform provides a venue for Challenge Owners, those looking for solutions or new ideas, to pose challenges to internal Solvers, those within NASA with the skill and desire to create enlightened solutions. The Solvers who deliver the best innovative ideas can win awards and will be recognized for their contributions at the 2012 NASA Project Management (PM) Challenge. NASA@Work is an internal collaboration platform that connects the collective knowledge of individual experts from all areas within the NASA organization via a private web based environment supported by InnoCentive. The platform provides a venue for Challenge Owners, those looking for solutions or new ideas, to pose challenges to internal Solvers, those within NASA with the skill and desire to create enlightened solutions. The Solvers who deliver the best innovative ideas will be rewarded and recognized for their contributions.
The ability to post challenges using the NASA@Work site is currently limited to the NASA civil servant workforce. Contractors and their employees are encouraged to access the NASA@Work site and view challenges posted by NASA. However, contractors should not submit solutions directly through the tool. If a contractor believes it knows of a solution to a posted challenge, the contractor should notify the appropriate NASA Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative (COTR). The COTR may then contact the challenge owner and NASA Contracting Officer to determine what, if any, steps should be taken to evaluate and/or procure the solution. This provision does not authorize work to be performed under any NASA contract.
All challenges will run for a total of four to six weeks and all associated awards will be distributed by the winner’s home center. Because the platform is not housed on NASA servers, updates from the NASA@Work site and notices of new posted challenges will originate from an InnoCentive based email address: no-reply@innocentive.com.
