Subject: ESMD Technology ICP & BAA
As I’m sure you are aware, there are a number of acceleration actions being implemented at the request of the NASA Administrator. Many of these involve acquisition approaches and planning (including schedules) for major systems developments by ESMD. As a result, it is premature to continue with the previously planned Intramural Call for Proposals (ICP) and the Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for the Exploration Systems Research and Technology (ESR&T) and Human Systems Research & Technology (HSRT) programs until we can be assured that our technology investments are properly aligned. Consequently, technology managers at the respective Centers involved in the forthcoming ICP and BAA solicitations should know that they are being deferred at this time. We will inform you as soon as a new date is identified for the release of these solicitations.
Additional details concerning the BAA for industry will be posted on FedBusOps when they become available.
We regret the inconvenience that this late announcement may cause. However, you can be assured that we are doing our best to support the changes in timing for our development programs. We will provide you with additional insight into revised plans as soon as they become available. Please distribute this information to the relevant parties at your respective centers.
