CELL PHONE DAY

Thursday, April 3, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., west lobby. Representatives of
Cingular Wireless, Nextel, Simply Wireless, T Mobile, and Verizon
Wireless will be available. The Exchange Council’s new contract
with Verizon offers Government employees a 17 percent discount on
current plans. ID is required. (Pay stubs are acceptable.) After

TAKE OUR DAUGHTERS TO WORK MEETING

Monday, April 7, 2 p.m. Code CE Conference Rm. 4F35. Planning
meeting for Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day at HQ on
Thursday, April 24. Volunteers are needed. All are welcome.

LASIK SEMINAR

Wednesday, April 9, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., MIC 3. Join Vision Quest
Laser Center for an educational seminar and screening for LASIK
vision correction. Space is limited, so sign up today! If you are

FHDS TICKETING TRAINING FOR HQ USERS

April 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 12 noon, and
2 p.m., Rm. 9H40 (PRC). The Facilities Help Desk System (FHDS) is
a new Web-based ticketing system that will allow HQ users to
electronically generate requests for service, such as conference
room scheduling/audio visual support, building trouble call
reporting, space planning and facilities services. Malicha Day,

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS TOWN HALL MEETINGS

These mandatory meetings will be held in the auditorium and
hosted by our Deputy Administrator Fred Gregory, Assistant
Administrator for Security Management and Safeguards Dave
Saleeba, and Director for Headquarters Operations Jim Frelk on
what NASA Headquarters is doing to prepare for an event or act of
terrorism that may put the health and well-being of its employees
in jeopardy. Due to space limitations, each code has a designated

ATTENTION DC RESIDENTS

Saturday, April 12, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Carter Barron Amphitheater
parking lot (16th & Kennedy Sts., NW). The District Department of
Public Works will hold its annual spring household hazardous
waste drop-off event. This service is free and open to all
District residents. There will also be an electronics recycler
onsite that will accept most consumer electronic products,

REGISTER FOR TAKE OUR DAUGHTERS TO WORK DAY

Thursday, April 17 – registration deadline. Take Our Daughters
and Sons to Work Day at HQ is scheduled Thursday, April 24, for a
half day (8:30 a.m.-12 noon). Parents and sponsors will pick up
their children at 12 noon after the morning activities. For
