Description
NASA/MSFC plans to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for the following commercial item/services: Refurbishment and Repair of NASA Barge Pearl River. NASA/MSFC has a requirement for the refurbishment and repair of the NASA Barge Pearl River, currently located at Stennis Space Center (SSC), Mississippi near New Orleans, Louisiana. The refurbishment and repair of this vessel will allow for the transportation on inland waterways of Ares 1 Upper Stages (US) and US test hardware between the Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) and SSC, where the stages and test hardware will be evaluated for development and flight.
A Draft Statement of Work (SOW) is attached.
This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1.
The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 336611 and 1,000 employees, respectively.
The anticipated release date of the RFQ is on or about 01/07/08 with a quote due date of 01/22/08. The actual RFQ release date and quote due dates will be posted as part of an amendment to this synopsis.
All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency.
An ombudsman has been appointed. See NASA Specific Note “B”.
The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application. A site visit at NASA/SSC is anticipated to be scheduled on or about December 13, 2007 for prospective firms. Visitors who attend the site visit will have the opportunity to listen to a briefing on the proposed procurement and take an escorted tour of the NASA Barge Pearl River. Advance notification of intent to participate in the site visit is required. All contractual and technical questions must be submitted in writing (e-mail or facsimile) to the Primary and Secondary Points of Contact identified herein. Telephone questions will not be accepted.
