Description
NASA/GSFC is issuing this synopsis for the Rapid Spacecraft Acquisition (RSA), also know as Rapid III, and is planning to release the Draft Request for Proposal (DRFP) on Monday, July 13, 2009. The principle purpose of Rapid III is to provide a rapid and flexible means to procure spacecraft in support of the scientific and technology dvelopment goals of GSFC, NASA and other Federal Govenment Agencies.
This synopsis is being released to inform you of the pending release of the DRFP. The DRFP will be released for your consideration and comments. The final date for submission of comments will be specificed in the DRFP cover letter. The DRFP will be for information and planning purposes. Potential offerors are advised that no proposals will be requested and no contracts will be awarded as a result of the DRFP.
The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26.
The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 336414 and 1,000 employees, respectively.

The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
