NASA Geospace Dynamics Constellation Solicitation, Proposal Due Date Extension Forthcoming
On or about August 16, 2021, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Science Mission Directorate (SMD) expects to release an amendment to Program Element Appendix P to the Third Stand Alone Missions of Opportunity (SALMON-3) Announcement of Opportunity (AO) extending the proposal due date for the Geospace Dynamics Constellation (GDC) Investigation solicitation NNH17ZDA004O-GDC.
The current proposal due date is September 1, 2021. NASA expects to extend this current due date by a period of time no shorter than three weeks. A forthcoming amendment will set the new due date.
This planned extension is in response to 1) proposer requests after clarifications on the solicitation schedule and management requirements, and 2) NASA’s analysis of potential and likely impacts due to the evolving COVID-19 public health situation. A due date extension may minimize potential delays in final selections while introducing additional resilience against negative impacts on proposers and evaluators during the evaluation process.
Responses to all inquiries will continue to be posted at the Questions and Answers (Q&As) location of the GDC Program Acquisition website at https://lws.larc.nasa.gov/gdc. The period for questions/comments will be extended to match the extension and will be specified in the amendment. The period for questions and comments will now close three weeks before the forthcoming extended proposal due date, and the period for responses will close ten days before the new proposal due date. Questions may therefore be continued to be emailed to the Point of Contact listed in the PEA on or after August 11, 2021. Anonymity of persons and institutions who submit questions will be preserved.
Comments and questions may be addressed by E-mail to the GDC Program Scientist, Dr. Jared Leisner, at jared.s.leisner@nasa.gov (subject line to read “GDC PEA”).
