Description

NASA is hosting a pre-solicitation workshop for the System of Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) Request for Proposal (RFP) April 18-19, 2005 in Nashville, TN. The objective of this workshop is to solicit input from government, industry and academia regarding the challenging aspects of the acquisition of Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) capabilities in support of NASA’s Exploration Systems Mission Directorate (ESMD) Development Programs Division.      

Acquisition strategy and scope issues will be discussed in detail at dedicated splinter sessions.    

The current proposed splinter session topics are: 1. Associate Contractor Issues (e.g., Data Rights, Data Sharing, Interface Control, etc.) 2. Organizational Conflict of Interest     3. Acquisition Issues: (e.g., FAR 15.202 Advisory Process, Oral Proposals, Contract    

Period of Performance, and Award Fee approach) 4. Draft Documents [Statement of Objectives (SOO), Statement of Work (SOW), Systems Engineering Management Plans (SEMP’s)] 5. Simulation Based Acquisition 6. Systems Engineering and Integration Scope    

The final list of splinter sessions and the agenda for the workshop will be provided to all participants upon confirmation of registration. Participation is sought from both aerospace and non-aerospace companies, consultants, and academics, as well as NASA personnel.    

Attendance is limited to 3 personnel from each corporate/academic organization and NASA center.     Registration fees apply.
