Subject: ACTION: Exec Council decision on Supercomputer

Enterprises:

Executive Council approved the Ames supercomputer proposal today as follows
(note: the proposal is dropped if we do not get appropriate OMB and
Congressional concurrence by Tuesday, June 15):

Purchase computer with $26m in Enterprise contributions in FY04 and pursue
lease for remaining amount

Each Enterprise must include “minimum usage” and “lien” in POP budgets
submitted to Code B on July 1. Liens will be adjusted downward if
additional paying users.

Allocation is shown in attachment.

ACTION for all Enterprises:

Please provide to Cheryl Hood (cc: Beck, Falk) by 4 pm today the offsets forthe FY04 commitment shown in attachment.
