Description

NASA/ARC has a requirement for eight (8) coarse sun sensors.

General: Photodiode type coarse sun sensors to provide 1-axis attitude data for satellite attitude and control applications.

Design and Construction: Unit shall be available as space rated and radiation hardened for satellite applications. The supplied units for this purchase do not require environmental certification or radiation hardening. The unit will be used solely for ground testing and development leading to the procurement of space rated units.

Mechanical: The units shall be designed to direct mount to the vehicle structure by means of mounting bolts. They shall be self contained and modular.

Weight: Unit weight shall not exceed 12 grams.

Supply Power: Unit shall be a self-contained mA current source with no input power required.

Electrical Interface and Signals: The CSS shall provide an analog current source output over 2 wires.

Field of View: The CSS shall provide a functional full-angle circular field of view of 120*.

Accuracy: The CSS shall have a minimum +/-5* of angular accuracy within the circular field.

Operational Temperature Range: The IMU shall provide continuous operation while exposed to a temperature range of -40 to 70 deg C.

Delivery to NASA Ames Research Center Receiving Station 255-3 Moffett Field, CA 94035-1000. Delivery shall be FOB Destination.

This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to use the On-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above or it may be accessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin= . The information required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ.

The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13.

Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred) no later than 4:00pm PST on 23 MAY 2008 to Elizabeth M. Sanchez. Telephone questions will not be accepted. It is the quoter’s responsibility to monitor this site for the release of amendments (if any). Potential quoters will be responsible for downloading their own copy of this notice, the on-line RFQ and amendments (if any).
