This notice is issued by NASA Ames Research Center to post a Request for Information (RFI) via the internet, and to solicit responses from Industry.

The RFI technical documentation is attached to this notice, and is also viewable at the NASA Ames Research Center Procurement website: http://server-mpo.arc.nasa.gov/Services/Proc/

This document is for information and planning purposes and to allow industry the opportunity to verify reasonableness and feasibility of the requirement, as well as to promote competition.

Questions about the technical content of this RFI should be emailed by Thursday, August 6, 2009 to: Marianne.Shelley@nasa.gov. Please send questions with “EDL-TDP-RFI-AMD” in the subject heading. A “Q&A” document will be posted as an amendment to this notice for all questions received. Company or individual names will not be posted.

Comments/ Responses to this RFI are due by COB Friday, August 14, 2009.

The preferred method of response is by email to the contracting officer – Marianne.Shelley@nasa.gov. Please send responses with “EDL-TDP-RFI-AMD” in the subject heading. Documents must be in MS Office or Adobe (pdf) file format. Hard copies are not required or requested. Please contact the contracting officer if another method of submittal is requested.

This presolicitation synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information submitted in response. Respondents will not be notified of the results.

An ombudsman has been appointed — See NASA Specific Note “B”.

The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
