Message from Director of Strategic Communications and Development Directorate All Hands Meeting on NASA’s Communications Policy Scheduled for Tuesday, September 25, at 10 a.m.

Blaine Baggett, executive manager of communications and education at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, will present and discuss the agency’s policy on the release of information to news media Tuesday, September 25, at 10 a.m., in the Main Auditorium (N-201). The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer period.

Baggett served on the group that developed NASA’s communications policy. This working group, comprised of representatives from science, engineering, law, public affairs, and management, addressed a broad range of issues in an effort to achieve the agency’s goal of openness in scientific and technical communications.

The policy, available at http://www.nasa.gov/commpolicy, establishes clear areas of responsibility and coordination methods intended to improve NASA’s communications process. All Ames employees interested in communications and scientific openness are encouraged to attend.
