NASA ARC AFEU Bargaining Unit Memo: EPCS rating awards
Subject: [AFEU Bargaining Unit] EPCS rating awards
From: David W. Schwenke, Vice President for Negotiations, Ames Federal Employees Union
Date: Wednesday, June 18, 2008
Dear Ames Federal Employee,
The Ames Federal Employees Union is very pleased to let you know that Ames Research Center Director Pete Worden has decided to implement the EPCS rewards system as agreed to on May 1 between ARC and the AFEU. This means that each of you who receive a “Fully Successful” or higher performance rating for the 2008 performance year will receive a financial and/or time-off award, with the only exceptions being those who receive a Quality Step Increase or a promotion of greater value.
As you may be aware from our previous message, implementation of the agreement was in some doubt, however management has made the good and wise decision we urged.
The awards agreed to, in keeping with the NASA-wide policy, are percentages of your annual salary, specifically 0.50% for “Fully Successful”, 0.85% for “Accomplished”, and 1.50% for “Distinguished”.
If you are not in receipt of the appropriate award within 60 days of the date you received your rating, please contact us so that we can rectify the situation.
