March 18 – Update: Second Ames Employee Case Confirmed

We have received notification that a second Ames employee has acquired COVID-19 illness. There is no indication that this second case is related to the first case. Based on the circumstances and elapsed time since the employee was on site (more than 19 days ago), we believe that there is no additional risk at the center.
The protection and care of the Ames workforce, their families and the entire Ames community remains our top priority. Please continue to follow guidelines as specified on the CDC website (http://coronavirus.gov), as well as local, state and federal guidelines to stay healthy and to help slow the spread of the virus.
Ames Research Center remains on mandatory telework for ALL personnel with the exception of limited personnel required to maintain safety and security of the Center.
