NAS Workshop Leveraging Commercial Space for Earth and Ocean Remote Sensing
Day 1 – Monday, June 13, 2022 | 9:45am-5pm ET
Day 2 – Tuesday, June 14, 2022 | 9:45am-5pm ET
Commercial advances in satellite system development, launch capabilities, and measurement technologies have led to a paradigm shift in the space industry. U.S. government agencies have the opportunity to leverage these new technologies, such as clusters of SmallSats, to support a wide range of science and dual-use applications.
A recent National Academies’ report, Leveraging Commercial Space for Earth and Ocean Remote Sensing, identifies options for public-private partnerships and ways to integrate new capabilities from commercial space to achieve industry, government, and research objectives.
Learn more about the report and discuss ways to implement its recommendations by joining us in person or online for a two-day workshop on June 13-14, 2022. During the workshop, speakers will highlight new advances in commercial space and ways to utilize public-private partnerships to enable missions within the New Space ecosystem. The workshop will also explore how venture capital and new business models can play a role in accelerating mission development and consider the benefits of establishing a Hybrid Space Architecture for mission operations.
