MRPO Daily Status Report 2-7-03
GMT Date: 038
Calendar Date: 02/07/03
Increment: 6
Stage: 11A
Week 10
Payloads currently on-board ISS:
BSTC, CGBA, CSLM-2, InSPACE, MAMS, MSG (facility), PFMI, SAMS, STES-10,
SUBSA and ZCG.
Status:
MAMS, SAMS and STES-10 continue nominal, basically unattended, operations.
BSTC, CGBA, CSLM-2, InSpace, PFMI, SUBSA and ZCG are inactive. MSG is in
a trouble shooting mode.
EXPRESS RACKS 1 and 4 (ER1 & ER4) are powered and supporting payload
operations. ER2 & ER3 are currently powered down. ER3 will be activated
in the near future to continue ARIS 3 checkout/calibration. ER5 is available
to support payload operations but is currently inactive. ER1, ER3, ER4
and ER5 software upgrades have been accomplished. ER2 software upgrade
has been delayed until communications are re-established between the
ER2 laptop computer and the Rack Interface Controller (RIC).
MSG replacement parts were installed Wednesday and facility power was
turned on. Shortly thereafter a circuit breaker tripped. The cause of
this problem is not yet understood and trouble-shooting activities are
underway.
InSpace Coil assemblies were inspected Friday and were confirmed to
be ready to begin test operations when it becomes feasible to install
the payload in MSG.
MAMS is operating nominally in the quasi-steady mode. HiRAP is currently
inactive. MAMS data is available on the acceleration measurement web
page.
PFMI hardware removal from the MSG is contingent upon success of MSG
trouble-shooting.
All SAMS sensors in EXPRESS RACKS are operating nominally. The SAMS
sensor in the MSG is currently turned-off. SAMS data is also available
on the acceleration measurement web page.
STES-10 health and status data is nominal. STES-10 is configured with
diffusion-controlled chambers that require no crew operation activities.
Near-term Outlook:
Week 10 (2/3-2/9) – Planning for this week was based on approximately
24 hours of crew time availability for NASA payload operations. Progress
10 transfer operations are continuing. Additional MSG trouble-shooting
plans are being developed. PFMI and InSpace activities have been delayed
due to MSG problems.
Week 11(2/10-2/16) – Preliminary planning for this week is being
based on approximately 20 hours of crew time availability for NASA payload
operations. The crew will continue unloading Progress 10. MSG trouble-shooting
will be conducted, and if MSG becomes operational, PFMI removal and InSpace
installation/checkout may occur. ER2 laptop computer/RIC communication
trouble-shooting is planned and the SAMS filter is to be cleaned.
