MRPO Daily Status Report 10-21-02
GMT Date: 294
Calendar Date: 10/21/02
Increment: 5
Stage: 9A
Week 20
Payloads currently on-board ISS:
BSTC, CGBA, InSPACE, MAMS, MSG (facility), PFMI, PGBA, SAMS, STES-7, SUBSA
and ZCG.
Status:
MRPO payloads MAMS, PGBA, SAMS, STES-7 and ZCG continue nominal, basically
unattended, operations. BSTC, CGBA, InSpace, MSG, PFMI, and SUBSA are
currently inactive.
EXPRESS RACKS 1, 2 and 4 (ER1, ER2& ER4) are powered and supporting
payload operations. ER3 is installed in the US Lab and will be checked
out later. ER5 was checked out during Increment 4 and powered down.
MAMS is operating nominally in the quasi-steady mode. HiRAP is currently
turned-off. MAMS data is available on the acceleration measurement web
page.
PGBA health and status data is nominal, however the planned downlink
of video from the PGBA internal cameras has not yet been successful. Trouble-shooting
procedures, involving the swapping of the data cable and then reconnecting,
have been added to the crew task list. PGBA health and status data was
lost on Saturday and then regained after power to the payload was cycled.
All SAMS sensors in EXPRESS Racks are operating nominally. The SAMS
sensor in the MSG is turned-off. SAMS data is also being posted to the
acceleration measurement web page.
A PFMI processing run (#7) is now scheduled for Monday 10/28.
STES-7 health and status data is nominal.
ZCG health and status data is nominal. The payload is scheduled to be
deactivated Monday, Oct. 28, after operating for approximately 15 days.
Near-term Outlook:
Week 20 (10/21-10/27) – Planning for this week was based on approximately
11 hours of crew time availability for NASA payload operations. CGBA will
be activated in ER4 on Tuesday, 10/22, in preparation for stowage of PGBA
plants to be harvested during week 21.
Week 21 (10/28-11/02) – Preliminary planning for this week is being based
on approximately 20 hours of crew time availability for NASA payload operations.
ZCG will complete planned operations and be deactivated on Monday 10/28.
PGBA plants will be harvested and historical photographs will be taken.
Two PFMI runs are scheduled and the PFMI hardware will be removed from
the MSG and stowed. Soyuz 5 is tentatively scheduled to be launched and
to dock with the ISS. Due to the recent loss of a Soyuz shortly after
launch, the Soyuz 5 mission may be impacted.
