Week 2

STS undocking occurred as planned at approximately 9:30 a.m. CDT Saturday. Landing was planned for Monday but it has been delayed until today, and possibly tomorrow, due to weather conditions at KSC. The possibility of landing at Edwards continues to be evaluated.

MRPO payloads being returned on STS-111 are: BTR, CGBA, CPCG-H, PCG-EGN, PCS, and ZCG samples.

Payloads currently on-board ISS: ADVASC, BSTC, InSPACE, MAMS, MEPS, MSG, PFMI, SAMS, StelSys, STES-8, SUBSA and ZCG.

Status: EXPRESS RACKS 1 and 4 (ER1 & ER4) are powered and supporting payload operations. ER1 was repowered Friday. ER2 is scheduled to be repowered June 24. ER3 is installed in the US Lab and will be checked out later. ER5 was checked out during Increment 4 and powered down.

The Medium Rate Communication Outage Recorder (MCOR) is experiencing occasional over-temperature conditions requiring it to be turned-off. When MCOR is turned-off, payload data is lost during loss of signal periods.

ADVASC is downlinking nominal health and status data and the initial plant sprouts are now visible.

BSTC was activated today to support Stelsys operations over the next three days. BSTC health and status data is nominal.

InSpace hardware has been transferred to ER5 for stowage. InSpace will not operate during UF-2 stage.

MAMS was repowered Friday and is operating nominally in the quasi-steady and HiRAP modes. MAMS data is available on the acceleration measurement web page.
MEPS is stowed in ER3. It will be transferred to ER1 during week 3 and initial operations are scheduled for week 6.

MSG checkout will occur in week 4.

PFMI is stowed in the US Lab and is scheduled to operate in the MSG late in the UF-2 stage.

SAMS rack-to-rack communications were successfully re-established today and all SAMS equipment is downlinking nominal health and status data. Four SAMS sensors are downlinking acceleration data. Late Saturday SAMS data downlink was interrupted due to an ER4 payload ethernet hub reboot. Following the hub reboot, SAMS was unsuccessful in re-establishing rack-to-rack communications.

The first set of StelSys samples have been transferred to BSTC to support initial operations tomorrow. Follow-on Stelsys operations will occur on Thursday and Friday.
STES-8, with all six growth chambers activated, is downlinking nominal health and status data.

SUBSA is stowed in the US Lab and is scheduled to operate in the MSG during week 4.
ZCG samples will be placed in the ZCG furnace during week 3 for processing.

Near-term Outlook:

Week 2 (6/17-6/23) -Planning for this week was based on approximately 12 hours of crew time availability for NASA payload operations. The crew is having an off-duty day today. BSTC/StelSys crew operations are scheduled for the next 3 days.

Week 3 (6/24-6/30) – Preliminary planning is being based on approximately 21 hours of crew time availability for NASA payload operations. ER2 will be activated. The ZCG hard-drive will be replaced and ZCG samples will be loaded into the furnace and activated. ADVASC sampling will be conducted, MEPS will be transferred to ER1 and MSG checkout will begin.
