Press release: March 19, 2001, 09:00 (Moscow time) [06:00 UTC]

In accordance with the de-orbit plan the OC [Orbital Complex] “Mir” is
drifting in a waiting mode, its deceleration continues in upper layers
of atmosphere.

A routine check out of the OC “Mir” onboard systems was performed during
the previous day, its trajectory parametres registered. Telemetry data
and the core block TV displays are used to control MCS, thermal mode,
the station pressure integrity.

The data received and processed at MCC confirm the complex “Mir” readiness
for final stage operations.

The next status report will be issued on March 20.
