SMD Colleagues,

Transition is part of the normal process as part of the presidential elections, accordingly as part of this process I encourage everyone to exercise your privilege to vote. Speaking of transitions, I had the honor of working with exceptional colleagues throughout my NASA career that started at the Johnson Space Center. I transitioned to NASA HQ in 2005 to be part of the Constellation Program as part of the Explorations Systems Mission Directorate, and later transitioned to the Science Mission Directorate.

My NASA experience has been challenging, exciting, full of new discoveries, and more importantly part of a unique family. I am excited to transition into my next phase of life and plan to retire from NASA December 2016. I don’t know what the future holds for me but if history is any indication, I will be blessed with meeting new challenges, opportunities, and making new friends.

To my SMD family, please continue the focus on excellence, excitement, dreaming, new discoveries, pride in what NASA represents and what we accomplish, and the importance of our efforts to the nation and the world.

Sincerely,
Geoff Yoder
