Recent Events:
Background Sequences – The spacecraft is operating nominally in performing the beta-supplement daily recording and transmission of science data. The mm225 sequence executed successfully from 02-311 (11/07/02) through 02-313 (11/09/02). The mm226 sequence has performed well since it started on 02-314 (11/10/02). It terminates on 02-317 (11/13/02). The mm227 sequence, successfully uplinked on 02-316 (11/12/02), begins executing near the end of day on 02-317 (11/13/02).
Twelve Roll Only Targeted Observations (ROTOs) were performed successfully by the mz216, and mz217 mini-sequences. MGS has completed 391 ROTOs to date.
Spacecraft Health:
Spacecraft subsystems report good health and performance.
Uplinks:
There have been 15 uplinks to the spacecraft during the past week, including new star catalog and ephemeris files, instrument command loads, the mz217, & mz218 ROTO mini-sequences, and the mm227 & mm225 background sequences. 7,179 command files have been radiated to the spacecraft since launch.
Other:
The MGS DSN schedule was altered this last week to accommodate Odyssey’s safe mode recovery efforts. A few uplink periods were given up to Odyssey, though this did not prevent any MGS commands from being uplinked. No MGS downlink time was lost due to the schedule change.
Upcoming Events:
ROTOs are planned for next week in the mz218 & mz219 mini-sequences. A DDOR experiment will be conducted on 02-332 (11/28/02). A Nav acceptance test is scheduled for 02-333 (11/29/02). The next Radio Science Egress mini-sequence is schedule to be from 02-336 (12/02/02) to 02-337 (12/03/02).
