Mars Express has a safe arrival in Kazakhstan
The European Space Agency’s Mars Express spacecraft has successfully reached Baikonour in Kazakhstan.
The first stage of the Mars Express mission involved disconnecting and packing all of the computers. After the team had labelled all of the mechanical support equipment the spacecraft was carefully loaded into its special transport container.
The spacecraft was transported to Kazakhstan on two Antonov aeroplanes. After 14 hours Mars Express and the Beagle 2 lander arrived safely in Baikonour. The spacecraft will now be prepared for launch in June of this year.
