Background information on the transmission:
The countdown is ticking for Space Shuttle Atlantis mission STS-115, which is due to lift off on Sunday 27 August on a mission to deliver and install the second of four sets of power-generating solar arrays that will power laboratories, living quarters and all other ISS systems.
Atlantis, making its 27th flight, will kick off a four-year marathon aimed at completing construction of the International Space Station by 2010.
The successful return on 4 July of Shuttle Discovery from the second post-Columbia flight cleared the way for the resumption of ISS assembly.
Atlantis and its six astronauts are set to lift off at 20:30 GMT the Kennedy Space Center in Florida and to land again at KSC on 7 September at approx 16:00 GMT.
ESA TV will provide extensive mission coverage – beginning with live coverage of the launch on. The schedule of ESA TV STS-115 transmissions will be posted after lift-off.
