JSC Today Special: How You Can Help!

Our JSC Team members have many needs, and there are a variety of ways you can help.

We have established a Hurricane Harvey Assistance Call Center, where you can offer donations, volunteer your time, or express a need (on behalf of yourself or another JSC Team member). The number is 281.792.HELP (4357). It will be available during the times of the Recharge & Refresh Station – from 9 a.m until 7 p.m. daily through Monday.

Donations

We are accepting a variety of donations at the Gilruth Center’s Destiny Ballroom. Here is a listing of current needs –

Cleaning Supplies

Baby Items, including food, formula, diapers (size 1 and 2), lotions and cream

Paper Goods

Toilet Paper

Ziploc Bags

Laundry Detergent

Feminine Hygiene Products

Pet Food

Flashlights and Batteries

Contact Solution

Pet Supplies

School Supplies

(Please note, we are not accepting clothing donations)

We appreciate the donations received, including:

Bottled water

Toiletries

Non-Perishable food

Donated items are available for those who need them, and JSC Team members may pick up donations at the Gilruth Destiny Ballroom anytime between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. through Monday.

If you have other items that could be useful to those in need, please indicate that in JSC’s Recovery Swap Shop at https://recoveryswapshop.jsc.nasa.gov/. Click “Place an Ad”, agree to the disclaimer, complete the “Submit an Ad” form, then click “Submit.” You will need your Launchpad credentials to access the system, you may also call 281.792.HELP (4357) to log your donation. The phone line will available from 9 a.m until 7 p.m. daily through Monday.

Volunteering Your Time

As our Employee Recovery Advocates in each organization identify needs for their teams, we will be mobilizing volunteers to support those teams. Volunteers are needed for the following roles:

Clean-Out Crew Team Lead
Clean-Out Crew Member
Hot Meal Provider
Other Volunteer Services

Other Recharge & Refresh Center Services

The Starport Fitness & Cardio Center will open tomorrow during the times of the Recharge & Refresh Center (daily from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. through Monday).

Nom Mi Street Food Truck will be available tomorrow at the Gilruth between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
