The EMU Panel convened at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2001. Topics of discussion are as follows:

  1. Flight Readiness Review

  1. STS-104/7A (C. Donnellan X 35896)

    1. Post 7A On-Orbit ESEL is in the preliminary review cycle.

    2. A MR is in the work for the PLSS and batteries that are coming home.

  1. STS-105/7A.1 (S. Anderson X 39311)

    2. No issues to report.

  2. STS-108 — UF-1 (R. McDaniel — Davis X 33787)

    1. JSC MPLM Bench Review #1 Squawks have all been closed and the EMU crew preference items have been shipped to KSC. Shipment included all cre preference items allocated for MPLM stowage except LTAs, CCAs, LCVGs, in-flight stowage restraint bags and croakies.

    2. KSC MPLM Bench Review is scheduled for August 14, 2001.

    3. JSC MPLM Bench Review is scheduled for NET September 7, 2001.

    4. LTAs, CCAs, LCVGs, and croakies are requested for delivery for CMs Bursch, Waltz, and Onufrienko by September 4, 2001.

    5. EMU ESEL R2 is in the preliminary review cycle and will be brought to the August 15th EMU Panel.

    6. Work is in process to determine configuration of the Middeck stowed EMU pending the outcome of CM Godwin’s fitcheck in the medium HUT.

  1. STS-109 — HST3B (S. Anderson X 39311)

    1. EMU ESEL was presented at the telecons and is needed to come to the EMU Panel.

  1. STS-110/8A (C. Donnellan X 35896)


No issues to report.



  1. RDR/FIAR Status

  1. For STS-105/7A.1, there are no open RDRs.

  2. For STS-108/UF-1, there are twenty (20) open RDRs.

  3. For STS-109/HST3B, there is one (1) open RDR.

  1. Certification Status


  1. There is one (1) open certification item for STS-105/7A.1

  2. There are two (2) open certification items for STS-108/UF-1.

  3. There are no open certification items for STS-109/HST3B.

  1. CCBDs and PPDOs

The following items were presented and directed as follows:



    • H7167 — EVARM Dosimeter Pocket Certification and Fabrication — Approved with changes.

    • H7119 — ORU Tool Kit — Approved with changes to go to the EVA Hardware Board, August 8, 2001.
