This programme provides an updated short overview of the ISS, its assembly status and the reasons for Europe’s participation in this largest scientific/technical co-operative project ever.

2)Teach Space 2001

11:15-11:30 GMT

On the 26-28 October ESA is inviting teachers of children aged 6 to 18 across all subject areas to the first International Space Station (ISS) education conference at ESA/ESTEC in the Netherlands. The objective of this conference is to develop educational material using space as a tool for teaching. This programme provides background information on the forthcoming event and comprises of a 3 minute A-roll with split audio, complemented by a longer B-roll with clean international sound.

3)Space Age Solar Car

11:30-11:45 GMT

This programme features a revolutionary concept car moulded from space plastics is on its way from the Netherlands to the World Solar Challenge, a race for solar-powered vehicles across Australia, taking place in November.

4)Proba

11:45-12:00 GMT

This programme presents PROBA, one of the tiniest ESA spacecraft ever built which is paving the way for future satellites of global proportions. The PROBA launch is currently scheduled for 18 October 2001.
