ISS MER Status 4 May 2001
| C& C MDM Failures | Multiple C& C MDM failures. | C& C2 is Primary, C& C1 is Back- up, C& C3 is Stand- by. Still loading C& C1 after change- out during 6A. Root cause still underway. |
| 4B BGA High Torque | High Torques have reappeared on the BGA. | Latch was successfully cycled during the 6A mission but high motor currents and the inability to precisely position the array has returned. Array is currently in directed position. Assessing replacing the BMRRM on an upcoming mission. |
| Unable to evacuate CDRA CO2 bed | After sucessful R& R of the CDRA Airsave pump, the CDRA was unable to pump down the AD/ DES 1 bed. |
Currently running in single bed ops which is acceptable for the time being. Formulating plan to replace the faulty check valve and/ or entire unit. |
| Ku- Band Gimbal Temperatures | Ku- Band gimbal temperatures repeatedly drop below certification limits. | After initial analysis the operational limit was lowered to -9DEGC as an interim which allows the Ku Band system to be used more often. Additional analysis is underway to determine the final lower limit. |
| MCA Electrometer Op | PBIT | MCA unexpectedly shuts down Intermittent shut- downs. Currently investigating impacts to 7A. |
| MCOR Overtemp | MCOR shutdown due to overtemp | Fan obstruction was cleared. Unit operates, but I/ O is currently disabled for C& C trouble- shooting. |
| Possible Lab Window Contamination | Lab window cover was left open during Soyuz docking resulting in potential contamination from the Soyuz RCS jets. |
Plan for window photo- survey in- work. Initial indication from crew is that there appears to be no cause for concern. |
| Broken TVIS Slats | Multiple slats brokedn during TVIS use. | All slats are being replaced by Aluminum slats. Unit will require initial checkout prior to first use with new slats. Crew will wear hearing protection at their discretion. |
