The following notes highlight the ISS activities within the last 24 hours that were discussed during the morning NASA and Boeing management teleconferences, as well as the daily MER Management & Subsystem Tag-Up. These notes are not intended to provide the current configuration of the ISS systems, nor are they intended to capture all of the events that have occurred in the past 24-hour period or that are planned for the next 24-48-hour period. For a detailed overview of the last 24-hour period and upcoming ISS events, refer to the “0800 Report” and “Daily Report”, published by MOD on its Mission Control Center (MCC) website at http://mod.jsc.nasa.gov/mcc (select “Realtime Mission,” then “ISS Msgs”).

  • SSRMS Activities: A dry-run for the airlock installation using the SSRMS prime string was successfully completed yesterday, as was the Digitals Accuracy Characterization and Video Regeneration test. The dry-run with the redundant string was deferred because of time limitations, and is tentatively being rescheduled for next Tuesday, June 26. The FRGF stiction anomaly occurred twice during the operations. The stiction between the LEE and the FRGF causes the LEE to temporarily “hang up” on the FRGF as it is being released. While this is not believed to pose any potential threat to the FRGF or SSRMS, the ART/SSRMS team is continuing to investigate potential impacts of the ungrapple stiction anomaly encountered during last weeks tests to EVA handoffs of the Oxygen/Nitrogen Tank ORUs. Following completion of the SSRMS operations, the Diagnostic Software Patch #3, which is used to troubleshoot JEU transmit/receive errors should they occur, was re-installed.

  • Refresh of DDCU P6-2B: DDCU P6-2B was successful refreshed yesterday to correct a bit flip in its EEPROM.

  • DDCU LA-1B Bit Flip Resolution: Transition of DDCU LA-1B to operate from SRAM mode was successfully completed yesterday. The DDCU was switched to SRAM mode because of an intermittent bit flip that was identified earlier this week in Block 10 of the EEPROM. Block 10 contains critical code for commanding and operating the DDCU. Development of a CCS computer patch that will enable refresh commands to be issued to the DDCU is still ongoing.

  • CHeCS: The surface sampling performed on June 13 revealed two areas with excessive bacterial and fungal levels. The areas were: (1) Node 1 Air Return Vent; and (2) Service Module Dining Table surface. Russian Fungistat wipes were used during yesterday’s housekeeping session to disinfect these areas.

  • MCOR: The MCOR was power cycled early this morning to try and resolve heartbeat and temperature readings that were believed to be anomalous. Once power cycled, the MCOR exhibited nominal heartbeat and temperature signatures. However, only 1 of 2 channels came up as functional. The ART is continuing to investigate.
