Last 24 Hours Status

  • During activation the Latching End Effector (LEE) B Camera Light Assembly (CLA) Light failed to come on. Opened IFI 343. Flight Controllers tried cycling the light 5 times to restore functionality with no joy. SSRMS operations can continue today with out the light.

  • Also got R6B SSRMS LEE Camera On/Off Error. (Opened IFI 344). Error message cleared. Have seen this error on the ground.

  • BGA ART met yesterday to discuss additional troubleshooting plans. Plan is to re-try latch #2 in the last successful orientation (19.5°) to see if it engages. If not, then during EVA2 the crew will go up to the BGA & use the pin tool to measure the depth of the pin & see if it can be pushed back. (If the toggle switch is functioning, the pin should not be able to be pushed back significantly) The pin will be re-actuated, and the depth will be checked again.

  • Received a CMG #2 Loss of Comm. (Opened IFI 345). Fail Indication was same as seen previously (IFI 225), however the auto-retry in the GN&C FDIR was disabled and did not occur. Multiple dumps were made to capture all relevant data. ADCO successfully commanded to recover CMG and put it back on line.

  • SLP Super Bolt Configuration — Following EVA1, HSV-ESR was concerned that the super bolts were not properly installed in the SLP quiver based on crew call downs. The crew reported that they could not get the quiver latching plate fully engaged. MER is investigating to determine if the socket head cap screws on the super bolts are aligned parallel to the SLP sill causing interference with the latching plate. The socket head cap screws were supposed to be perpendicular to the SLP sill so that latching plate could slide between them. It is suspected that the bolts were clocked from the proper position due to an incorrect picture in the EVA checklist.

  • ISS Ingress occurred around 4 am.

  • SSRMS is now securely attached to the LAB.

  • MPLM install will occur later today.
