STS 100/ISS 6A

GMT Day: 2001/111

Overall System Status:

  • During a communication check from the Orbiter to the Station, the crew reported no comm on the UHF. Station crew tried to call the Orbiter with no joy as well. Docking occurred without Station to Orbiter direct communication.

  • Both PCUs were placed in standby mode today for the Plasma DTO.

  • MCA is currently in Rapid Sampling Mode due to high levels of O2.

Last 24 Hours Status

  • The MCOR is operating nominally. The MCOR was restarted yesterday and allowed to operate beyond 40°
    C. The fans kicked on when the MCOR reached 43°
C and subsequently cooled to below 40°
    C. MCOR has maintained heartbeat.

  • Vozdukh is operational. Yesterday, MCC-M reported beds 1 and 2 were operating at a reduced flow rate after attempts to restore bed #3. The crew reported seeing “poppy seed” sized white particles from bed 3 during the troubleshooting activities. The particles are believed to be from the absorbent beds. Today, the crew performed the initial steps of the reduced airflow troubleshooting procedure and nominal airflow was restored to the two beds. Bed 3 remains non-recoverable.

  • The PPL for the Flight 6A Electrical Power System load shed table was uplinked successful.

  • Electron O2 generation was reduced from the 32 amp rate to the 16 amp rate. O2 levels were reaching the flight rule limit of 24%.

  • LAB UOP #7 was removed in preparation for the RWS by-pass cable installation which will occur shortly after docking. (Around noon local time) The UOP may be installed in the Node to replace the failed UOP later in the mission.

  • Docking successful at GMT 2110/111:14:00 (9:00am CDT)
