The Expedition 7 crew’s midweek activities aboard the International Space Station focused on maintenance and computer work. Commander Yuri Malenchenko spent two hours replacing a separation and pumping unit in the water recovery system in the Zvezda Service Module.

NASA ISS Science Officer Ed Lu installed new hard drives into laptop computers in the Destiny Laboratory Module. Lu also took inventory of battery packs for the carbon dioxide monitoring kit.

Meanwhile, the EarthKAM experiment continued Wednesday aboard the station. EarthKAM — also known as the Earth Knowledge Acquired by Middle school students experiment — allows young people to look at the Earth using a camera on the ISS.
