INFORMATION SESSION FOR MUREP Innovation and Tech Transfer Idea Competition (MITTIC) 2018
NASA’s MUREP is looking for Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) across the nation to participate in MUREP Innovation and Tech Transfer Idea Competition (MITTIC). MITTIC gives students an opportunity to learn about NASA’s Technology Transfer (TT) program and come up with an idea to spinoff NASA Intellectual Property (IP). Don’t miss this chance to work with a NASA researcher. Please create a team and participate in this authentic learning experience. Concept papers are due October 31, 2018 at 4PM ET.

MITTIC Overview
1. Choose one NASA Intellectual Property (IP) from the provided list on the website and submit a concept paper using the MITTIC Challenge Guidelines.
2. Up to ten qualifying teams are selected to participate in an online collaboration community and are funded to travel to NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC) for on onsite immersion experience in January 2019. During the experience, all participants are required to submit a technical concept paper, participate in a poster session, and deliver and oral presentation to a panel of judges.
3. One qualifying team receives travel funding for up to eight team members and one Principal Investigator (PI) to visit, tour, and present to NASA Ames Research Center (ARC) and various companies in Silicon Valley. The experience exposes team members to research facilities and laboratories, start-up companies, and the opportunity to discuss further development.
4. Up to eight MITTIC participants receive a paid NASA Internship funded by Minority University Research and Education Project (MUREP) through the SBIR/STTR and Technology (TT) programs at any NASA Center. ALL MITTIC participants may apply if they meet NASA Internships eligibility requirements found on MITTIC website.
