An eruption (details) at the Puyehue-Cordon Caulle Volcanic Complex (PCCVC) in Chile began on 4 June 2011. This GOES-East infrared image was taken at 5 Jun 2011 14:45 UTC and has a 4 km resolution. The image is centered at Latitude 44.08º S Longitude 67.03º W. You can see the plume rising from the eastern border of Chile and spreading to the southeast over Argentina with the prevailing wind.
