1.0 OBSERVATIONS SCHEDULED AND ACCOMPLISHED:
1.1 Completed Three Sets of STIS/CCD 8851 (Sparse Field CTE test {Cycle 9})
The Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (CCD) was used to perform CTE measurements that are made using the "sparse field test", along both the serial and parallel axes. The proposal completed with no reported anomalies.
1.2 Completed WF/PC-2 8669 (Merger-Driven Evolution Of Galactic Nuclei: Observations Of The Toomre Sequence)
The WF/PC-2 was used to observe galaxy mergers that are believed responsible for triggering starburst and AGN activity in galaxies, and even perhaps transforming spiral galaxies into ellipticals. The proposal completed nominally
1.3 Completed Five Sets of STIS/CCD 8562 (Probing the Large Scale Structure: Cosmic Shear Observations)
The Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (CCD) was used to probe the distortion of light bundles from distant galaxies, looking at the statistical properties of the intervening inhomogeneous {dark} matter distribution. The proposal completed nominally.
1.4 Completed Two Sets of WF/PC-2 8826 (Cycle 9 Supplemental Darks pt 1)
The WF/PC-2 was used to perform a T dark calibration program that obtains three dark frames every day in order to provide data for monitoring and characterizing the evolution of hot pixels. There were no reported anomalies.
1.5 Completed STIS/CCD 8664 (Structural Measurement of Globular Clusters in M31 and NGC 5128: Stalking the Fundamental Plane)
The Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (CCD) was used to observe in the snapshot mode to image a wide selection of individual globular clusters in two other large galaxies {M31 and NGC 5128} for measurement of their structural parameters {r_c, c, central surface brightness}. We will use these to compute their binding energies and define the FP in these two galaxies. Comparison with the Milky Way will then give us powerful new information on just how “universal” the cluster formation process was in the early protogalaxies. The observations completed with no reported problems.
1.6 Completed Two Sets of STIS/CCD 8837 (CCD Dark Monitor-Part 1)
The Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (CCD) was used to monitor the darks. The proposal completed with no reported problems.
1.7 Completed STIS/CCD/MA1 8103 (A Global Picture of White Dwarfs in Cataclysmic Variables)
The Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (CCD and MA1) was used to make ultraviolet spectrographic observations of the white dwarf star that is located in the cataclysmic variable star system known as TY-PSC The observations were executed as scheduled, and no problems were reported.
1.8 Completed Three Sets of WF/PC-2 8805 (POMS Test Proposal: WFII Parallel Archive Proposal Continuation)
The WF/PC-2 was used to perform a generic target version of the WFPC2 Archival Pure Parallel program. The program will be used to take parallel images of random areas of the sky, following the recommendations of the Parallels Working Group. The proposal completed with no reported problems.
1.9 Completed WF/PC-2/STIS/CCD 8559 (The Role of Dark Matter in Cluster Formation and Galaxy Evolution)
The WF/PC-2 and the Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (CCD) were used to observe the outer regions of massive clusters that represent transitional areas of great cosmological importance where field galaxies encounter the steep potential wells of dark matter and baryonic hot gas. Little is known about either the dark matter profile at large radii or the morphological properties of infalling galaxies at those redshifts where strong evolution is observed in the cluster cores. The proposal completed normally, with no reported problems.
1.10 Completed STIS/CCD 8838 (Bias Monitor – Part 1)
The Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (CCD) was used to monitor the bias in the 1×1, 1×2, 2×1, and 2×2 bin settings at gain=1, and 1×1 at gain = 4, to build up high-S/N superbiases and track the evolution of hot columns. The proposal completed nominally.
1.11 Completed WF/PC-2 8183 (Morphology of the Most Massive Galaxies in the Early Universe)
The WF/PC-2 was used to make observations of the massive radio galaxy MRC0152-20 in order to study its morphology. High redshift radio galaxies are fundamentally important probes of galaxy and cluster formation. The observations were completed as scheduled, and no anomalies were reported.
1.12 Completed Two Sets of STIS/CCD 8840 (Read Noise Monitor)
The Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (CCD) was used to measure the read noise of all the amplifiers on the STIS CCD using pairs of bias frames. Full frame and binned observations are made in both Gain 1 and Gain 4, with binning factors of 1 x 1, 1 x 2, 2 x 1 and 2 x 2. All exposures are internals. The observations completed with no reported problems.
1.13 Completed WF/PC-2/STIS/CCD 8324 (The Structure and Kinematics of Irradiated Disks and Associated High Velocity Features in Orion)
Both the WF/PC-2 and the Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (CCD) were used to make observations of high velocity feature M-42-HST10 located within the Orion Nebula. The STIS provides us with a unique opportunity to study the early evolution of proto-planetary disks and their chances of survival in the harsh irradiated environments of OB class associations where most stars form. A wavelength calibration observation was also taken. The observations were completed as planned, and no anomalies were reported.
1.14 Completed FGS 8731 (A High Angular Resolution Survey of the Most Massive Stars in the SMC)
The Fine Guidance Sensors were used to conduct high angular resolution observations of some of the SMC’s hottest and most luminous objects by conducting a comprehensive survey of nearly every spectral type in the upper portion of the HR diagram. Binary or multiple star systems will be detected down to an unprecedented level, more than one order of magnitude better than possible with WFPC2. The targets selected include a representative list of normal Main Sequence O-stars and their evolved descendents, namely supergiants, hypergiants, LBVs, and WRs, many of which have been previously observed by HST’s spectrometers for purposes of cosmological calibrations. The observations completed, and no problems were reported.
1.15 Completed STIS/CCD 8172 (STIS Deep DLA Imaging Survey II)
The Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (CCD) was used to make deep observations of quasar/alpha galaxy Q0049-2820. The HST imaging, together with ground-based spectroscopy, will unify absorption-line studies and faint galaxy imaging studies, providing a comprehensive picture of the history of assembly, star formation, gas consumption, and chemical enrichment in the Damped Lyman-Alpha galaxies. The observations were executed as scheduled, and no anomalies were noted.
1.16 Completed STIS/CCD 8631 (Bright Quasar Close Lensing Search II)
The Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (CCD) was used to expand the Cycle 8 second generation HST snapshot survey of bright quasars, optimized to find lenses with component image separations < 1". The observations completed nominally.

HSTAR 7940 describes a failed FHST map at 305/180209Z when no stars were found in trackers 2 and 3. At the time the HST was on gyros only, and there was no problem with attitude.
HSTAR 7943 documents a failed FHST map at 306/044000Z when trackers 1 and 3 did not find any candidate stars. Attitude was not a problem and a subsequent map was successful.
2.3 Operations Notes:
The NICMOS 28V bus volts IN side-1 continues to flag out-of-limits low intermittently.
The SSR EDAC error counter was cleared twice, per ROP SR-1A.
The engineering status buffer limits were adjusted at 305/1318Z, using ROP DF-18A.
