Challenges”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Several independent groups have been severely critical of
NASA’s management practices because of a lack of credible accounting
practices, poor financial and contract management, and the inability to
control cost overruns. However, NASA’s biggest management challenge might
be revitalizing its workforce for the future. The agency faces a huge
shortage of young scientists and engineers.
Witness will address the progress NASA is making in addressing its
management challenges and strategies to help replenish the agency’s
workforce.
Expected to testify are:
The Honorable David Walker, Comptroller General of the United States
The Honorable Sean O’Keefe, Administrator, NASA
Mr. Mark Roth, General Counsel, American Federation of Government Employees
