H-IIA F3 Daily Report, 06-09-2002
Final Review was Completed, and Y-3 Countdown Operations Began — 4 days
before a launch —
Only four days remain till the launch day on September 10 (Tue). The weather
at the Tanegashima Space Center (TNSC) is fine without any impact from the
powerful typhoon #16.
The final review was completed for launching the Data Relay Test Satellite
(DRTS) and Unmanned Space Experiment Recovery System (USERS) Spacecraft by
H-IIA Launch Vehicle No.3, and launch operators are now working for terminal
countdown operations.
Today, Y-3 (=L-3, 3 days prior to the launch day) operations were started.
The very final inspections, such as preparing for gas jet and other
propellant loading, electrical circuit checking, and functional checks for
valves, are carried out.
DRTS and USERS Spacecraft are in the stable condition inside the fairing.
Their batteries are continuously charged, and their environmental data, such
as temperature and humidity are monitored all times.
