Good Health Survey – CASIS, NASA, and NSRBI seeking input
Dear ASGSR community:
The Center for the Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS) and its partners [Human Research Program (HRP), National Space Biology Research Institute (NSBRI), Space Life and Physical Sciences (SLPS) Division] are seeking to fly standard research models for specific disease conditions (shown below) in experiments aboard the International Space Station National Laboratory.
– Cancer (e.g., in response to radiation and/or microgravity)
– Metabolic diseases
– Musculoskeletal diseases (e.g., osteoporosis, sarcopenia)
– Neurodegenerative diseases (e.g., Alzheimer’s, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis)
– Wound healing/tissue regeneration
– Immunosuppression/Aging
Data from these experiments would be made available via an open science platform under development by NASA called GeneLab.
We need your input to select the most appropriate models to fly aboard the ISS that would produce commercially valuable data for your company and its pipeline research program. Please click on the following survey to help them understand those appropriate models, what data should be collected from those models and how to make that data available to the community. All individual data responses will be held confidential.
