Description

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) would like to conduct an open briefing with industry on the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) – R Series. A GOES-R Industry Day has been scheduled for March 4, 2003, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the University of Maryland, University College Inn and Conference Center, University Boulevard at Adelphi Road in Adelphi, MD.

The tentative agenda for the plenary session includes: Overall Program Overview MIT/LL HES Point Designs Overview Notional Architecture Baseline Potential Ground Architectures GIFTS Status Following the plenary session the government will give industry the opportunity for one-on-one meetings to discuss responses to RFI GFM-2004 and any other topics industry may want to cover.

We are planning on having 1-hour sessions per RFI response submitted. The one-on-one sessions will begin the afternoon of March 4 and continue through March 7. We will assess whether we need to set some additional sessions the week of March 10 after all RFIs have been submitted.

These meetings will be set up on a first come first serve basis, however we will try to accommodate requests due to travel distance as much as possible.

If you would like to attend the GOES-R industry day please go to the following website to register: http://www.westoverconferences.com/GOES/index.htm. The site will open February 12, 2003 and close March 3, 2003. To set up your private sessions please contact Shannon Powell, Westover Consultants at spowell@westover-gb.com by February 21, 2003.
