Genes in Space 2022 will kick off on January 13! In the meantime, put on your thinking caps and brush up on contest basics.

To apply to Genes in Space, your proposal has to incorporate tools from the GiS toolkit. Before you put pen to paper, test your knowledge of the toolkit through a new quiz on our website.

Spotlight on Genes in Space alumni

While carrying out research on the ISS means conducting groundbreaking science, our proudest achievement is in working with the bright and curious students who participate in our program. This spring, we’re spotlighting our outstanding alumni, including:

New teacher workshop added March 12

At Genes in Space remote workshops, teachers can take part in a hands-on demo of BioBits and the P51 Fluorescence Viewer — two parts of the Genes in Space toolkit. Participants will receive an experiment kit that’s theirs to keep, with materials that can be brought back to the classroom!
