Background information on the transmission:

On 20 July 2006, the German Chancellor Angela Merkel will visit ESOC in Darmstadt, ESA’s Establishment for spacecraft operations. Accompanied by Roland Koch, the Prime Minister of Hessen, the German Land in which ESOC is located, Merkel will visit ESOC’s installation, receive a briefing on ESA’s mission operations and make a phone call with the ISS Crew, notably German ESA astronaut Thomas Reiter.

ESA-TV provides a live multi-camera feed of the following parts of Ms Merkel’s visit:

approx 10:20-10:25 GMT – Visit of the ESOC Main Control Room

10:30-10:45 GMT – Telephone link with the ISS, in front of 300 media, officials and ESOC staff
