Decision: Approve.
13. Gold Salt Hydrazine Detection Kit – EC3/John Graf
This presentation outlined the progress to date for an ISS airlock contamination detector kit. It was reported that approximately 40 Shuttle gold salt samplers and the Shuttle color reference cards are ready for ISS use. A new sample hose assembly is in fabrication and a prototype should be ready by the next SSATA test (5/9/01). This is being proposed instead of the hand-held sample pump and associated PGT adapter proposed 2/26/01. The kit stowage bag will not be ready for 7A. It was suggested that the samplers be stowed in the staging bag for 7A, which contains several pouches. Two adapters, 18 sample holders, and 2 reference cards need to be added to the ESEL.
This proposal has already been taken to the SMART as an informational briefing. The prototype hose assembly is scheduled for delivery 5/11/01, Bench Review is 5/15/01, and CDR is 5/16/01. GCAR is expected to be complete and hydrazine measurement hardware ready to ship on 5/25/01.
Direction is still required on the Draeger tubes recertification. USA is working N204 Draeger tubes certification.
No further items were brought forward, and the EHB adjourned.
